The Department of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Minnesota is seeking a qualified individual to fill a Teaching Specialist or Lecturer position in the Curriculum and Instruction Program.
Job SummaryThis is a temporary, non-tenured position as a Teaching Specialist or Lecturer, paid on a per course basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the Curriculum and Instruction Program, evaluating student performance, and submitting grading.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching (90%): Attend class meetings, deliver course content, evaluate student performance, and submit grading.
- Course Preparation (10%): Complete orientation and training, meet with faculty, develop course content and syllabus, prepare course materials.
Required Qualifications:
- An earned master's in Education, or a closely related field, is required for appointment as a Teaching Specialist.
- An earned doctorate in Education or a closely related field is required for appointment as a Lecturer.
- Evidence of attention to diverse identities in teaching or professional experience, and the commitment to support the University's work in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at a university level.
