Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Hardware Systems Designer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and documenting Plant Process Computer Systems used in nuclear power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and integrate Plant Process Computer Systems to meet customer requirements
  • Assist principle engineers in design, documentation, and testing of system hardware acquisition equipment
  • Develop custom adapters/cabling and interfaces to transition existing plant equipment to new computer equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to design cabinet layout and power distribution systems
  • Prepare documentation required by customers to maintain systems after delivery
Day-to-Day Activities
  • Review hardware designs for system architecture, network layout, and cabinet design
  • Perform review of data acquisition designs, including interface cabling and custom adapter designs
  • Learn and understand component selection to meet system needs and contract deliverables
  • Participate in setup, system modification, and system integration and testing
  • Implement quality standards applicable to nuclear safety systems
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
  • Minimum 0-2 years of applicable experience required
  • Experience with data acquisition hardware and software
  • Entry-level knowledge of circuit designs and data acquisition systems
  • Experience with ACAD and 3D modeling
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco switches
  • Experience with RTP data acquisition systems
  • Experience with Servers and workstations
