About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Engineer to join our team at Westinghouse Electric Company. As a key member of our innovative team, you will be responsible for designing, integrating, and documenting Plant Process Computer Systems used in nuclear power plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop system hardware acquisition equipment designs to meet customer requirements.
  • Collaborate with hardware and software engineers to plan, design, develop, and utilize electronic data processing systems.
  • Design custom adapters/cabling and interfaces to transition existing plant equipment to new state-of-the-art computer equipment.
  • Prepare documentation required by the customer to maintain the system after delivery.
  • Perform hardware design and review in the area of system architecture, network layout, cabinet design, system cabling interface, custom panel and kit design, cabinet power design.
  • Participate in the set-up, system modification, and system integration and testing, and delivery of our Projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with applicable years of experience in hardware design and integration.
  • Minimum 12 years of applicable experience required.
  • Data acquisition hardware and software knowledge.
  • Knowledge of circuit designs to support custom cables and interfaces.
  • Experience with ACAD, 3D modeling, drawing creation, and review.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cisco switches.
  • Experience with RTP data acquisition systems.
  • Experience with Servers and workstations.
