We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet Captain to oversee all aspects of events at the Seattle Aquarium. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for ensuring seamless execution of events, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining high standards of quality and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities- Event Operations: Oversee all aspects of event planning, execution, and coordination, including set-up, food presentation, serving, and cleanup.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to guests, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
- Team Management: Supervise and train banquet staff, ensuring they are equipped to provide high-quality service.
- Communication: Maintain constant communication with guests, on-site contacts, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of events.
- Inventory Management: Work with the Executive Chef to ensure accurate inventory levels and effective menu planning.
- Point of Sale: Proficiently use Point of Sale systems to manage event sales and billing.
- Scheduling: Review and manage event schedules to ensure efficient use of resources and maximum guest satisfaction.
- Education: Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with one to two years of related experience and/or training.
- Certifications: Valid Washington State Food Workers Card and valid Alcohol Service Permit.
- Skills: Basic computer proficiency, including email, Excel, Word, and Outlook; working knowledge of Point of Sale systems; and previous supervisory experience.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift 25 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment.
