Banquet Captain Job Summary

The Banquet Captain is a pivotal role in managing and supervising the banquet floor, providing engaging, sincere, and personalized service to guests. This position requires a natural leader with a passion for orchestrating exceptional banquets and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To be an ambassador of the hotel, providing a personal service to all guests, fully aware and following hotel standards and procedures.
  • To ensure that all guests/visitors receive a warm welcome, cordially greeting them upon arrival to the banquet floor for their function.
  • To assist staff members in ensuring they maximize their service standards.
  • To manage any guest complaints in a professional manner, owning it, resolving it to the guest's satisfaction, and recording it.
  • To be fully aware of and report all guest complaints or comments.
  • To read and update logbooks, ensuring a proper handover between shifts.
  • To strictly respect key handling procedures.
  • To respect schedules, terms, and deadlines as agreed with management.
  • To be updated with the latest administrative, organizational, operational, or other changes and news.
  • To share daily activity highlights with the supervisor, including internal and external guest opportunities.
  • To be entirely flexible and adapt to last-minute requests through the hotel or guests.

Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities and handle a multitude of tasks, colleagues, and guest requests.
  • Passion for guest service, strong guest service orientation, and training skills required.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a variety of hours, days, holidays, and weekends as business needs require.
  • Visa requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
