The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the delivery of exceptional services within a person-centered framework. Key responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations of the community.
  • Driving both short-term and long-term strategic planning initiatives.
  • Participating in the Otterbein Operations Team.
  • Fostering a culture of engagement among partners.
  • Managing sales and marketing efforts for independent living options, as well as referral marketing for assisted living and skilled nursing services.

The Executive Director will also engage frequently with the local board of directors and manage community relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate, present, and implement the community's annual business plan along with operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor and report on statistical data and quality indicators to assess operations and develop improvement strategies.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication systems with residents and staff regarding important matters, including addressing concerns and complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Otterbein policies.
  • Recruit, supervise, mentor, and retain a high-quality team of staff members.
  • Build and maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the local board of directors.
  • Engage in corporate teams to exchange best practices and operational insights.
  • Act as a representative of Otterbein within the community.

Qualifications

  • A strong commitment to serving older adults.
  • Ability to empower older adults in decision-making processes whenever feasible.
  • Capability to make timely and accurate decisions in care and emergency situations.
  • Ability to manage the emotional and mental challenges associated with working with individuals who are ill, disabled, or elderly.
  • Exceptional literacy, writing, documentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Health/Long-Term Administration, Business, Gerontology, or a related field is preferred; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Licensure/Certification: Must possess a current Ohio LNHA license.
  • Experience: Minimum of three years of experience as a Long Term Care Administrator is required.
