Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at ACCEL Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the goals and objectives of the Company, ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle heavy inbound/outbound telephone calls and email volume.
  • Maintain communication with bus drivers/monitors, transportation vendors, parents, and school staff.
  • Dispatch bus drivers/transportation vendors as needed to ensure all routes are covered for student transportation.
  • Inform school personnel and parents of practices, rules, regulations, laws, etc. for follow-up action.
  • Maintain manual and electronic documents files and records for up-to-date information and/or historical reference.
  • Process materials, such as field trip requests, route changes, etc. for updating and distributing information.
  • Respond to inquiries from students, parents, and/or staff regarding transportation services.
  • Participate in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for conveying and/or gathering information.
  • Assist in planning and preparation of bus routes, providing drivers with current route, student information, schedules, maps, and directions.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Assess incidents, complaints, etc. for resolving or recommending a resolution.
  • Prepare written materials, such as procedures, correspondence, memos, reports, etc. for documenting activities and conveying information.
  • Present information for communicating, gaining feedback, and ensuring adherence to internal controls.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance rosters from transportation personnel.
  • Respond to emergency situations during and after standard hours for resolving immediate safety concerns.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of pupil transportation regulations and requirements.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent data management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in a pupil transportation related role.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
