About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Per Diem Counselor to join our team at Discovery Behavioral Health. As a Per Diem Counselor, you will provide Substance Use Disorder Counseling and Education to patients and their families, as well as case management services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate treatment from admission through discharge, including group counseling, individual counseling, family counseling, and treatment planning.
  • Document all services provided within given timeframes.
  • Facilitate educational groups as assigned.
  • Participate in crisis management and interventions as needed.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history and treatment requirements, and prepare individualized treatment plans.
  • Develop and implement complex treatment and discharge plans for clients with substance use disorder.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and other professionals on specific case-related issues to maintain continuity of care.
  • Create positive working relationships with local social service agencies, EAPs, and community organizations.
  • Serve on department or site committees to plan and evaluate treatment programs and client services.
  • Perform staff on-duty responsibilities, ensuring effective operation of the therapeutic treatment milieu.
Requirements
  • Minimum: Associate Degree in the Mental Health or Human Service-related field.
  • Must have a minimum 2 yrs. Experience as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor.
