OVERVIEW
The individual in this role is tasked with overseeing the facility's operations while applying advanced maintenance expertise.

Successful candidates may be assigned to a specialized role (subject to training completion for multi-skilled positions) or directly into a multi-skilled role based on their previous experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute all tasks in a professional, environmentally responsible, and safe manner.
  • Ensure operational effectiveness, equipment reliability, and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
  • Implement and manage tactical processes within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on all facility equipment, including instrumentation, control systems, mechanical, and electrical apparatus.
MULTI-SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Proficient in diagnosing and resolving electrical maintenance issues, including switchgear, motors, circuit breakers, and facility wiring. Familiarity with advanced electronic testing equipment and precision instruments is essential for problem identification.
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, tuning, and replacing complex instrumentation and control components. Must maintain the facility's equipment and Distributed Control System. Completion of extensive technical training in modern instrumentation and control practices is mandatory.
  • Experienced in identifying and rectifying mechanical issues involving combustion turbines, pumps, compressors, valves, and various rotating machinery. Proficiency in alignment, basic machining, rigging, and equipment inspection and repair is required.
  • Knowledgeable in the operation of a simple cycle power generation facility. Qualification as a control room operator will be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Relevant experience in a power generation environment is required.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and proficiency in the operation and maintenance of a combustion turbine generating facility, including balance-of-plant systems.
  • Specific experience with combustion turbine models is preferred.
  • Familiarity with control systems is advantageous.
  • Understanding of operational protocols is beneficial.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Effective planning and organizational abilities are necessary.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities and schedules while collaborating with team members.
  • Excellent customer service skills and the ability to engage with diverse personalities are desired.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other productivity software.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities, long-term development potential, and networking skills.

EDUCATION:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • An Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.

  • High awareness of safety and environmental considerations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typical power generation facility environment and/or outdoor work settings.
  • Requires physical activities such as standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering equipment for inspection or data collection.
  • Outdoor conditions may vary from very cold to hot and humid. Work may occur in confined spaces, with exposure to dust, grease, oil, and loud noise.
  • Overtime and non-standard hours may be required.
  • Occasional travel outside the service area may be necessary.
  • Personal protective equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hats, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.) must be worn.
  • Operation of a personal computer is required.
  • May involve working around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals.
  • Occasionally requires lifting as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
