Job Summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a highly skilled Litigation Paralegal to join our team. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a critical role in supporting our attorneys in insurance defense and product liability cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage case files from inception through mediation/arbitration/trial, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of e-Filing in both State and Federal Court systems, ensuring compliance with court rules and regulations.
  • Prepare initial discovery, including interrogatories, request for production, and request for admissions, in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare draft responses to discovery, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Monitor deadlines for responses and timeliness, ensuring prompt communication with attorneys and clients.
  • Prepare deposition summaries/abstracts, and other legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, factual chronologies, medical chronologies, agreements, depositions, and trial binders, for use by attorneys.
  • Investigate facts as requested by attorney, ensuring thorough and accurate research.
  • Ensure proper indexing and filing of original legal documents, maintaining a secure and organized electronic and physical filing system.
  • Attend trial as necessary, providing support to attorneys and clients.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; three or more years of insurance defense and product liability litigation-related experience required.
  • Working knowledge of internet software, Excel spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word software, Adobe Acrobat Pro, LexisNexis, Pacer, Relativity, Sanction, TrialPad, and E-Filing experience in both State and Federal Court systems.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with ability to read and interpret written information.
  • Experience with trial preparation and participation/attendance, including organization of witness materials and preparation of physical and electronic exhibits.
  • Knowledge of complex litigation, medical malpractice, construction, products liability, and other relevant areas.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Attention to detail, with ability to maintain accuracy and thoroughness in all work products.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong initiative and dependability.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with ability to maintain confidentiality and focus on solving conflict.
  • Professionalism, with ability to accept responsibility for own actions and follow through on commitments.
