Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Science Intern to join our team at Colliers Engineering & Design. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting technical staff on day-to-day projects, reading and reviewing project drawings and plans, and operating handheld GPS units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects, including data collection and analysis.
- Read and review project drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Operate handheld GPS units to collect and record data.
- Identify and measure components of various ecological communities, including plants, animals, and their habitats.
- Confer with engineers and other technical staff to prepare plans and reports.
- Travel to project sites, including out-of-town locations, for up to two weeks at a time.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and clients, both verbally and in writing.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
- ESRI GIS application knowledge is a plus.
- Must have reliable transportation to the office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer literacy, including MS Office.
