About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI Engineer to join our team at Verizon. As a key member of our data science team, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth and leading business innovation by applying cutting-edge machine learning techniques and AI technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and complete AI projects, designing, developing, and delivering innovative technical solutions to solve problems and improve business outcomes.
  • Design and develop machine learning/deep learning models to predict customer behavior and intent, supporting marketing campaigns for customer retention, prospect acquisition, and revenue growth.
  • Work closely with machine learning engineers to deploy models in production, both in real-time and batch processing, and systematically track model performance.
  • Partner with key business stakeholders to discuss business strategies and opportunities.
  • Be a subject matter expert on deep learning/machine learning and predictive modeling.
  • Drive technical innovation through active research and applications of new theories, techniques, and technologies.
  • Mentor and coach junior data scientists in their career development and technical knowledge and skills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong analytical and coding skills, with experience in machine learning, deep learning, and data science in business.
  • Knowledge of AI/ML models, frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.), and libraries/packages/APIs (e.g., Scikit).
  • Experience in data management and data analysis skills, with strong expertise in SQL skills.
  • Hands-on computing/programming skills, proficient in Python, PySpark, and Linux Shell script.
  • A Master or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Economics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in scaling AI in areas like personalization, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, Generative AI, etc.
  • Ability to explain both the code and the underlying math used in algorithms/models.
  • Experience in both batch and streaming models in production.
  • Experience in Hadoop, GCP, AWS, or other distributed compute services.
  • Strong communication skills and good cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
