Role Summary:

We are in search of a Claims Representative who will be responsible for the investigation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution of various insurance claims as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a high volume of claims with low to moderate complexity within designated settlement authority.
  • Ensure excellence in customer service throughout the claims process.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and reviews of policy documents, facts, and related materials to make informed decisions regarding claims resolutions.
  • Establish and review appropriate reserves for each claim based on comprehensive investigation and evaluation.
  • Provide guidance to external resources as necessary.
  • Execute tasks in accordance with established procedures, requiring some interpretation.
  • Gather insights and offer recommendations to address moderately complex issues.
  • Analyze problems by breaking them down into manageable components and prioritizing effectively.
  • Utilize available resources and expertise to develop solutions.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of processes and assist in implementing changes.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers, including policyholders, claimants, agents, and internal employees.
  • Travel for fieldwork as needed.
  • Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry standards, practices, and claims concepts.
  • Previous experience in claims handling.
  • Ability to multitask and resolve issues effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient negotiation and relationship management abilities.
  • Analytical mindset with sound business judgment.
  • Effective time management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Progress towards AIC or AINS certification is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using various core systems, office equipment, and software applications.
  • Experience in handling bodily injury and/or commercial general liability claims.
