Role Summary:
We are in search of a Claims Representative who will be responsible for the investigation, assessment, negotiation, and resolution of various insurance claims as assigned.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a high volume of claims with low to moderate complexity within designated settlement authority.
- Ensure excellence in customer service throughout the claims process.
- Conduct thorough investigations and reviews of policy documents, facts, and related materials to make informed decisions regarding claims resolutions.
- Establish and review appropriate reserves for each claim based on comprehensive investigation and evaluation.
- Provide guidance to external resources as necessary.
- Execute tasks in accordance with established procedures, requiring some interpretation.
- Gather insights and offer recommendations to address moderately complex issues.
- Analyze problems by breaking them down into manageable components and prioritizing effectively.
- Utilize available resources and expertise to develop solutions.
- Contribute to the enhancement of processes and assist in implementing changes.
- Maintain regular communication with customers, including policyholders, claimants, agents, and internal employees.
- Travel for fieldwork as needed.
- Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with industry standards, practices, and claims concepts.
- Previous experience in claims handling.
- Ability to multitask and resolve issues effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient negotiation and relationship management abilities.
- Analytical mindset with sound business judgment.
- Effective time management skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Progress towards AIC or AINS certification is advantageous.
- Proficient in using various core systems, office equipment, and software applications.
- Experience in handling bodily injury and/or commercial general liability claims.
