Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Distribution Operations Engineer to join our team at Portland General Electric. As a key member of our distribution operations team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions to optimize the operation of our power distribution network.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement solutions to optimize the operation of our power distribution network
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to increase reliability, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction
  • Analyze data and identify trends and patterns to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop and implement projects to improve the distribution system
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of industry trends, technologies, and best practices in power distribution operations
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Typically 5 years or more years of experience in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Strong background in electrical engineering and power distribution operations
  • Experience in process optimization, data analysis, and project management
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience at a utility or power generation plant
  • Field engineering experience
  • Completion and passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Advanced knowledge of engineering and economic principles and concepts
