Job Summary:

POWER Engineers is seeking a talented civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering student for a summer 2025 internship in our Portland, Oregon office. As an intern, you will be involved in all aspects of utility distribution design, including data collection, assisting senior engineers and designers, and performing engineering consulting services.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior engineers and designers with performing engineering consulting services in distribution design, construction drawing creation, structural pole loading, equipment sizing, and material specification on medium voltage systems.
  • Participate in sessions designed to develop your skills and provide networking opportunities, including professional development sessions, early talent speaker series, and fun Friday activities.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering at an ABET-accredited university.
  • Strong command of the English language and good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to learn new computer software efficiently.
  • Interest in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry.
  • Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with design, drafting, or engineering software such as MATHCAD, SOLIDWORKS, AUTOCAD, etc., as well as Microsoft Excel.
