PacifiCorp is seeking a highly skilled Transmission and Distribution Standards Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Power Delivery department, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and updating engineering standards that affect all levels of distribution and transmission systems design.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with internal groups to evaluate external suppliers and manufacturers, ensuring material integrity and reliability.
- Interpret relevant federal, state, and governing body regulations, including NESC, to ensure compliance.
- Develop and maintain publications describing material specifications and installation procedures.
- Lead investigations into equipment failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Pursue and analyze new technologies for cost reduction, reliability improvement, and wildfire mitigation.
- Provide field support to address technical challenges and ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college/university.
- Understanding of governing body rules, regulations, and requirements in engineering standards.
- Ability to communicate technical information effectively to a group of peers.
- Experience in designing distribution or transmission systems, or related professional experience.
- Ability to identify material failure modes and detect them before and after failure.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
- Advanced degree in EE or ME with emphasis on power.
- Professional Engineering License.
