Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Summary

The Northwest Asthma and Allergy Center is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, including managing financial records, preparing financial statements, and handling payroll functions. This role reports to the Executive Director and ensures adherence to accounting principles and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess excellent communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain precise and current financial records.
  • Prepare and present regular financial statements and reports.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and fixed asset reports.
  • Oversee payroll and accounts payable processing.
  • Process and review returns for excise, payroll, and personal property taxes.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to formulate annual capital and operational budgets.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights to management.
  • Ensure compliance with standards for Income-Tax based accounting.
  • Assist with accounting and financial audits as required.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
  • Provide financial training and support to department leadership and physicians as needed.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with external accounting firms, banks, and contracted financial institutions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and payroll management.
  • Prior experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
  • Strong knowledge of Income-Tax Based Accounting, payroll laws, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
