Summary/Objective:
The Fayetteville Woodpeckers are on the lookout for a vibrant mascot to captivate and amuse fans at Segra Stadium. The ideal candidate should possess a lively spirit, be sociable, and have experience in the performing arts sector. This role involves participation in all home games, as well as various community events throughout the year.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

- Engage, interact, and connect with fans in the ballpark and community.
- Adhere to the schedule provided by the Ballpark Entertainment Coordinator to ensure the mascot is positioned correctly for all in-game activities.
- Act as the mascot's handler during non-performance times.
- Participate in community-sponsored events as required.
- Represent the Woodpeckers in a professional manner.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Outgoing enthusiasm and high energy.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Background in the performing arts or dance is preferred.
- Effective communication skills using body gestures to interact with fans.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in fast-paced environments.
- Must be reliable and committed to meeting the work schedule and mascot requirements.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Prior entertainment experience as a performer.
The majority of time will be spent outdoors. The job may require the employee to function in a high-energy and heavily populated outdoor professional sports venue/environment. The employee may also be exposed to varying weather conditions for extended periods while performing the duties of this job.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and focused vision.
- Must be able to meet current mascot costume dimension requirements.
- Ability to perform physical tasks: bend, squat, kneel, twist, climb up/down flights of stairs, walk on uneven ground.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift up to a specified weight on a regular and continuing basis.
This is a part-time, seasonal position. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Availability to work weekdays, weeknights, and weekends during the baseball season is essential.
Travel
Travel may be expected in this role.
