About the Role

As a Medical Support Specialist at BioLife Plasma Services, you will play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of plasma donations. Your primary responsibility will be to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, and review laboratory test results. You will work closely with the Center Manager and Center Physician to ensure compliance with regulations and provide exceptional customer service to our donors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion.
  • Manage donor adverse events, following applicable SOPs and referring to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
  • Review laboratory test results, including Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE), and notify donors of unsuitable test results.
  • Support the Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees, as applicable.
  • Manage employee incidents, referring to EHS guidance as needed.
  • Assist with pandemic investigations and support as needed.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, including a graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
  • Current licensure or certification as an LPN or LVN in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
  • Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
  • Satisfactorily complete FDA-approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
  • Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.
