Fleet Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Mechanic to join our team at SMO Energy. As a Fleet Mechanic, you will be responsible for the service and repair of diesel powered fuel oil trucks and gasoline powered service vans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, maintain, and overhaul diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and differentials
  • Service and repair industrial trucks, light duty trucks, tank trucks, tractors, tank trailers, automobiles, and associated component parts
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including PM maintenance and road service
  • Diagnose and repair electrical systems, brake systems, and liquid pumping systems and equipment
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum of four years related mechanical experience
  • CDL A or B plus Tank and Hazmat endorsements preferred
  • Familiarity with federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) and Hazardous Materials Safety Regulations (HMSR)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the company's motor vehicle policy
