Key Responsibilities
  • Warmly greet patients and families, making eye contact and offering a smile as they enter and leave the clinic.
  • Answer patient questions, coordinate scheduling changes, and assist with locating destinations within the clinic.
  • Initiate online verification and make phone contact with external groups to verify patient benefits and certify procedural services.
  • Ensure proper authorization is obtained for high-dollar outpatient procedures and follow up on missing data or account problems.
  • Collect demographic information, verify patient data, and provide knowledge of and assistance with MyChart enrollment.
  • Collect co-payments, follow standard consenting workflow, and ensure completeness for insurance billing and compliance.
  • Coordinate updating insurance changes, add new insurance information, and complete Medicare Secondary Payer questionnaires as needed.
  • Assist with referral and work questions, pre-visit planning, and medical record management.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 0-6 months equivalent experience; 2 years equivalent experience preferred.
