Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Shelter and Surgery Manager to lead our veterinary clinic and shelter operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily functions of our high-volume spay/neuter clinic, special procedures surgeries, and shelter medical clinic.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective operational strategies to optimize the use of resources and ensure efficient clinic operations.
  • Collaborate with the finance and operations team to manage inventory controls, purchasing, and tracking of medications, including controlled substances logs.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of outside veterinarians, specialists, and emergency veterinary care for dogs and cats, ensuring timely communication of treatment plans and medical results.
  • Manage veterinary support staff responsible for providing shelter animal medical care, disease prevention protocol, spay/neuter surgeries, and implementing treatment plans.
  • Promote open communication and conflict resolution among volunteers, staff, and patrons, soliciting employee input and feedback.
  • Regularly analyze data and implement continuous improvement solutions to optimize clinic operations and achieve operational goals.
Requirements
  • 5 years of experience working in a veterinarian clinic.
  • 3+ years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Associate's degree preferred; High School Diploma/GED required.
  • RVT, LVT highly preferred.
Working Environment

This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. The successful candidate must be able to lift at least 50 pounds, push and pull heavy objects, bend, twist, reach, and perform strenuous physical activities.

Salary Range: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 Annually (based on experience)
