Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to join our team at Soliant in Philadelphia, PA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialized instruction to visually impaired students in a school setting
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students' visual needs and develop appropriate educational plans
  • Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students
  • Teach students skills related to visual impairment, including orientation and mobility, independent living skills, and assistive technology use
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure students' success and inclusion in the school community
Requirements
  • Valid certification or licensure as a TVI or OMS
  • Experience working with visually impaired students
