Staffing Coordinator

The Staffing Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our hospital's departments. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with the Chief Nursing Officer and Department Leadership to create and revise department schedules, matching the needs of individual departments to available personnel.
- Meeting schedule posting deadlines as per Hospital policy or Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
- Scheduling staff in the most productive and cost-effective manner, utilizing established staffing strategies.
- Evaluating and revising daily staffing of departments, including replacement of personnel due to paid time off, sick leave, leave of absence, and other unexpected circumstances.
- Participating in Hospital position control meetings to review schedules and staffing reports.
- Forecasting staffing needs to avoid emergencies.
Additional Responsibilities
The Staffing Coordinator is also responsible for:
- Supporting the review and approval process for requesting supplemental agency personnel.
- Reviewing contracted labor candidates to determine qualifications and submitting recommendations to the CNO and Department Leadership.
- Updating agency candidate orders in the Vendor Management System (VMS).
- Ensuring complete compliance files for incoming agency personnel in the VMS.
- Reconciling VMS invoices for hours and charges due to agencies.
To be successful in this role, the Staffing Coordinator must possess:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience in healthcare, preferably in an acute care setting.
- The ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
