We are seeking a highly experienced commercial lawyer to join our AWS Sales and Marketing organization as a Senior Corporate Counsel.

This role will involve serving as a trusted advisor to the Global Deal Strategy & Programs (GDSP) organization, a fast-growing business that leads AWS's most strategic commercial customer engagements across the world.

The ideal candidate will be inquisitive and scrappy, enthusiastic about technology, and able to thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Key responsibilities will include negotiating complex cloud services agreements, advising on regulatory and compliance issues, and innovating to modernize and scale our legal support.

This role will also participate in other AWS legal projects, including managing issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and driving simplification efforts.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of legal experience
  • Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
  • Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure, outsourcing, telecommunications, cloud computing services or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working closely with and advising senior executives of an organization or equivalent
  • Experience working independently and directly with all levels of legal and business partners or equivalent
  • In-house experience at a technology or internet company

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets.

The base pay for this position ranges from $164,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $272,500/year in our highest geographic market.

Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
