Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)

Responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant

As a CNA, you will provide care for residents under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Monitoring and documenting vital signs.
  • Measuring and recording height, weight, and fluid intake/output.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Assisting with personal hygiene, grooming, and toileting needs.
  • Supporting residents with meals and hydration.
  • Observing and reporting any changes in residents' skin conditions to a licensed nurse; providing necessary skin care.
  • Addressing residents' mental health and social service requirements.

Qualifications for Certified Nursing Assistants

  • High school diploma or GED
  • CNA certification is required
