Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Probation Officer to join our team at the Department of Juvenile Justice. As a Probation Officer, you will play a critical role in providing domestic and delinquent intake services, as well as juvenile probation and parole supervision. Your expertise will help us deliver effective interventions and services to promote juvenile behavioral change and public safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide domestic and delinquent intake services, including assessing client needs and developing case plans
  • Conduct juvenile probation and parole supervision, ensuring compliance with court orders and community service requirements
  • Develop and implement effective interventions and services to promote juvenile behavioral change and public safety
  • Collaborate with community resources and human service agencies to support families and individuals
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including written reports and case files
Requirements
  • Knowledge and/or experience of the criminal justice system, including court proceedings
  • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, guidelines, and procedures
  • Knowledge of interviewing clients, client counseling techniques, and case planning
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, including the creation of written reports
  • Knowledge of community resources and human service agencies to support families
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with juveniles and their families
  • Experience with community programming and interventions
