Job Summary

Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital is seeking an experienced Cardio Diagnostic Technician II to join our team. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine to complex electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs), Holter monitor applications, and exercise/treadmill stress tests for both inpatient and outpatient exams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs) and Holter monitor exams with precision and accuracy
  • Process and transmit EKG, Holter monitor, and stress test data to designated software applications
  • Ensure exams are available for physician interpretation, including paperwork and reconciliation of exams
  • Collaborate with all members of the patient care team to provide comprehensive patient care
  • Identify changes or abnormalities in EKG morphology and take corrective action as needed
  • Review the quality of EKG tracings for the patient care team and interpreting physician
  • Ensure all patient care equipment has had QC performed as required and is in safe working order prior to use
Requirements
  • Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s)
  • One year experience as a technician performing a variety of electrocardiograms (12 lead EKGs), Holter monitor applications, and/or stress tests
  • Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCI) or equivalent certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a hospital or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of electrocardiogram principles and techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
