Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist II to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine to complex diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including common and special ultrasound exams of high difficulty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures, utilizing high-frequency sound waves to capture images, and provide accurate explanations and instructions to patients and family members.
  • Assist physicians during diagnostic procedures or special ultrasound procedures, including assisting with sterile technique, and maintain proper sterile techniques for procedures.
  • Collaborate with the patient care team to ensure optimal patient safety and customer service, and promote a positive work environment by actively communicating and reporting pertinent patient care information and data.
  • Guide and mentor Ultrasound Technologist I and students to help build confidence in skills, knowledge, and abilities, and facilitate open, professional communication to achieve mutual understanding and problem resolution.
Requirements
  • Three years' experience as a Ultrasound Technologist, with a strong background in diagnostic imaging and patient care.
  • RDMS-OB, RDMS-AB, RDMS-BR, ARRT-SON, ARRT-VS, RVS, RVT, or BLS certification, and a graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s).
  • Ability to work independently, with sound judgment and above-average clinical skills, and possess basic computer knowledge to operate multiple computer systems.
