Adjunct Associate Professor of Coaching and Team Leadership

We are seeking an Adjunct Associate Professor of Coaching to join our team at San Joaquin Delta College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching organized classes in the Coaching discipline, with a primary focus on the Cheer Team.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching and Instruction: Instruct courses in Coaching in accordance with credit course outlines approved by the Board of Trustees.
- Curriculum Development: Maintain expertise in current teaching methods, discipline knowledge, and discipline-specific technologies.
- Student Support: Assist students in achieving stated course objectives, evaluate student progress, and provide guidance on counseling services and tutorial assistance.
- Departmental Contributions: Participate in the departmental process of curriculum review, modification, and assessment of student learning outcomes.
- Community Engagement: Support the Division Dean in cooperating with campus and community groups to provide programs, courses, and information relevant to student needs.
- Professional Development: Plan and complete approved professional development flex activities each semester.
- Minimum Qualifications: Any bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience, or any associate degree and six years of professional experience.
- Sensitivity and Understanding: Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience coaching cheer.
- Advanced Degree: Master's in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education.
- Teaching Experience: Experience in teaching postsecondary courses in Physical Education, Kinesiology, and/or Health Education.
- Leadership and Adaptability: Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to different levels of students' ability and learning styles.
- Cultural Competence: Demonstrated ability to adapt teaching strategies and techniques to students from different cultures and ethnic groups.
- Technological Literacy: Demonstrated ability to use innovative and creative teaching techniques and equipment, including the use of multimedia hardware and software and online instructional techniques.
- Curriculum Development: Demonstrated leadership in developing curriculum for discipline-specific courses and/or programs.
- Community Engagement: Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with business and industry to coordinate the educational program with community needs.
- Distance Education: Interest in or knowledge of teaching online and other distance education courses.
