Additionally, the aide will ensure safe and respectful transportation of patients using designated transport vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively engage in team meetings, professional development sessions, departmental committees, and educational programs.
- Provide appropriate oversight to clinical support personnel in compliance with the Physical Therapy Practice Act of the relevant state.
- Accurately complete charge and statistical documentation to reflect the services provided to patients.
- Deliver effective and skillful therapeutic interventions tailored to treatment plans developed for patients across all age groups, adhering to the scope of practice defined by the Physical Therapy Practice Act.
- Assist physical therapists in evaluating patients of various age groups within the permitted scope of practice.
- Maintain comprehensive written and electronic records that meet or exceed the facility's standards, documenting changes in patient status, cancellations, and treatment interventions.
- Ensure that documentation is co-signed according to facility guidelines and state regulations.
- Rotate through designated treatment areas and facilities as needed to support organizational requirements.
- Provide constructive feedback to supervisors regarding departmental performance and emergency situations.
- Manage scheduling to maintain productivity levels that align with the facility's established standards.
- Exhibit clinical proficiency in executing treatment programs as outlined by the physical therapist, adjusting based on patient responses and medical status to optimize outcomes.
- Identify necessary adjustments to the care plan and promptly inform the supervising physical therapist.
- Demonstrate the ability to implement treatment programs in a manner that reflects current clinical knowledge and effectively meets established goals.
Qualifications:
Must be a graduate of a Physical Therapist Assistant program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association, holding an associate's degree in the field. Candidates should possess the knowledge and skills essential for delivering high-quality customer service.
Licensure and Certifications:
CPR certification is required based on AHA standards, including both theoretical and practical components. Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is also necessary. Candidates must hold a valid Physical Therapist Assistant license or be eligible for indirect supervision as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
