Role of a Community Support Specialist:

Community Support Specialists assist individuals with physical, intellectual, or developmental disabilities, helping them integrate into their communities and achieve greater independence. This may involve providing physical assistance or supporting social skills development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster a safe and compassionate environment for individuals.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene.
  • Document services provided using our tracking system.
  • Follow prescribed medical care instructions.
  • Facilitate community engagement through various activities.
  • Support individuals with errands and appointments.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures.

Available Shifts:

  • Evening: 2pm-10pm or 3pm-8pm, full-time or part-time.
  • Overnight: 10pm-6am or 10pm-7am, full-time or part-time.
  • Weekend Only: 16 or 14-hour shifts every Saturday and Sunday, full-time; or 7am-3pm or 2pm-10pm, part-time.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Completion of required training.
  • Successful background check.
  • Proficient in computer usage.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Compensation:

  • Starting pay at $18.00 per hour.
  • Opportunity to complete a Certified DSP program for an additional 6% hourly wage.
  • Annual performance reviews and raises.
