Job Summary:
Glass Roots Construction, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicing Manager to oversee fiber splicing projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of fiber splicers and technicians, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee fiber splicing projects, including hiring and training construction crews and support staff.
- Provide detailed production forecasts and updates to the project management team.
- Maintain accurate production statuses and statistics in the proprietary project management platform.
- Ensure all fiber splicing work meets industry standards and specifications.
- Preventive and emergency maintenance of Vero's network assets, including utility locates, route drives, damage prevention, and repairs.
- Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding fiber splicing projects.
- Manage inventory of splicing equipment and material.
- Maintain an accurate record of all splicing activities and projects.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- 5+ years' experience managing underground and aerial fiber optic construction crews.
- 3+ years' management experience in fiber optic construction.
- Proven ability to develop and meet production forecasts for complex underground construction projects.
- Thorough understanding of OSP construction techniques and standards.
- Proficiency in fiber optic splicing techniques and equipment.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong leadership skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong process and documentation orientation, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Sheets, etc.), Google Maps, Google Earth, and project management tools.
