Job Title: Field Engineer

At Maverix Broadband, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Outside Plant (OSP) team, you will play a critical role in the deployment and maintenance of our advanced fiber optic networks.

Job Summary

The Field Engineer will be responsible for providing supportive engineering services through detailed collection of telecommunications information from the job site. This position requires a working level of knowledge in all technical aspects of fiber networks, including aerial, buried, and underground fiber network design and layout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all field work complies with permit requirements by understanding City, County, and State regulations.
  • Deliver detailed field notes and photographs to the engineering team.
  • Identify and validate constructability as aerial or underground environment, including required facilities and accurate measurements.
  • Provide schedule and project database updates, regularly reporting to the project manager.
  • Manage compliance with quality control and quality assurance standards and specifications.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Perform equipment, material, and routine site inspections.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in field engineering, preferably in the telecommunications industry with a focus on fiber optics.
  • Proficient in the installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks, including knowledge of splicing, testing, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Relevant certifications such as FOA CFOT (Certified Fiber Optic Technician) or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to work in various environments, including outdoor and confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Willingness to travel to different sites as required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Safety is our number one concern. Candidates must be able to comply with OSHA Standards.

  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outdoors 95% of the time.
  • Ability to follow OSHA/State/Local Safety Standards.
  • Ability to walk up to 3 miles per day on terrain such as gravel, pavement, grass, etc.

Compensation: $36.00/hr
