About the Role
The primary function of the Preconstruction Project Manager is to mitigate risks during the preconstruction phase by providing guidance and leadership to preconstruction teams. This role typically oversees multiple projects but may focus on a single large-scale project when necessary.

Key Responsibilities
As a Preconstruction Project Manager, you will:

  • Perform both basic and advanced estimating tasks to ensure a smooth workflow within the department.
  • Participate in the development and execution of project scope management plans.
  • Demonstrate expertise in budgeting and cost control processes to ensure profitable project management.
  • Facilitate risk management planning, including identification, analysis, and monitoring of project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with owner contracts and maintain a thorough understanding of quality management and safety plans.
  • Manage client and internal partner expectations regarding project workflows.
  • Oversee the development of key deliverables, including labor estimates, cost models, and GMP proposals.
  • Utilize Critical Path Method scheduling techniques to guide design phases effectively.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to develop staffing plans for assigned projects.

Minimum Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A four-year engineering degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in key market sectors relevant to the business unit.
  • Proficiency in P6 and Critical Path Scheduling.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Project Management Systems and industry-standard estimating software.
  • A successful track record of executing projects with minimal oversight.

Physical Requirements
Candidates must be able to wear personal protective equipment and may need to perform physical tasks such as climbing, lifting, and using electronic devices for communication.
