Role Overview
The primary role of the Preconstruction Project Manager is to mitigate risks during the preconstruction phase by providing leadership and oversight to preconstruction teams. This position typically involves managing multiple projects, although larger projects may warrant dedicated focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct both basic and advanced estimating tasks as required to maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Oversee the execution of project scope management plans, ensuring successful project completion.
  • Exhibit strong business acumen, particularly in budgeting and cost control processes.
  • Implement risk management strategies, including identification, analysis, and monitoring of project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with owner contracts and maintain a thorough understanding of project quality and communication plans.
  • Deliver all project outputs with professionalism and consistency.
  • Manage client and internal partner expectations regarding project workflows.
  • May act as Design Manager during project pursuits and design phases.
  • Establish 'Conditions of Success' for negotiated projects during the preconstruction phase.
  • Review all estimates to ensure alignment with historical costs and market conditions.
  • Oversee the development of key deliverables, including labor estimates, cost models, and project logistics.
  • Take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring accountability among team members.
  • Utilize Critical Path Method scheduling techniques to guide design phases effectively.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to develop staffing plans for projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical training and experience.
  • Project experience in key market sectors relevant to the business unit.
  • Proficiency in P6 and Critical Path Scheduling.
  • Experience with Enterprise Project Management Systems and industry-standard estimating software.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven track record of executing projects with minimal oversight.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Capability to reach above shoulder heights and below the waist frequently.
  • Occasional stooping, kneeling, or bending may be necessary.
  • Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
  • Frequent interaction with team members and stakeholders.
