About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications FPGA Engineer to join our team at RTX. As a key member of our Engineering Center Technical Team, you will collaborate with talented engineers to design and implement communications FPGA products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop FPGA application specifications from customer requirements.
  • Architect, design, and document the FPGA application from specifications.
  • Implement FPGA designs targeting the latest FPGA platform technologies.
  • Verification of FPGA applications in system lab environments.
  • Partner with various FPGA support teams to support the FPGA environment.
Requirements
  • Typically requires minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience in FPGA engineering.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI or higher clearance.
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 8 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge with telecommunications and/or signal processing concepts.
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and document FPGA designs from component level specifications.
  • Strong comprehension of HDL programming languages such as VHDL, Verilog or SystemVerilog.
  • Strong comprehension of FPGA development environments and FPGA development tool flows.
  • Experience with software languages used to interface to FPGA applications (Matlab, Python, C).
  • Experience working with CCA and SW development teams to interface with FPGA components.
  • Experience with the resolution of FPGA integration and test issues in hands-on lab environments.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in team environments.
