Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include:

  • Gathering and interpreting financial information related to liabilities, assets, and capital accounts
  • Generating financial documents, including profit and loss statements
  • Ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local financial regulations
  • Providing mentorship to junior team members and overseeing financial reporting
  • Assisting in the month-end closing process by preparing necessary journal entries and evaluating inventory
  • Contributing to organization-wide budgeting reports and engaging in the budgeting process
  • Maintaining product cost metrics such as Standard Costs and Actual Costs, ensuring that manufacturing cost margins are achieved
  • Examining actual manufacturing expenses and producing reports that compare standard versus actual costs

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of general accounting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems, such as Oracle NetSuite
  • A comprehensive understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices
