About the Role:
The Quality Assurance Laboratory Technician plays a pivotal role in conducting electrical, mechanical, audio, and environmental assessments of both existing and innovative product designs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain comprehensive test-related documentation for Military/Agency/Laboratory in the Lab Database
- Compile both informal and formal testing reports
- Execute testing on prototypes, current products, and competitor offerings
- Analyze test outcomes to verify product compliance
- Support the assembly, procurement, and setup of testing apparatus
- Organize test equipment and products in the correct order
- Conduct evaluations based on specified criteria, covering mechanical, electrical, environmental, and electromechanical functions
- Assist laboratory personnel with daily operations
- Contribute to the OTTO Internal Audit initiative
- Participate in the OTTO metrology program for Quality/Production tools
- Provide guidance and support to staff
- Develop policies and procedures aimed at enhancing OTTO's Quality Systems
- Engage in maintaining OTTO's ISO 9000 Registration
- Ensure testing competence as mandated by ISO 17025 Scope of Accreditation for OTTO
- Assist with additional related tasks as needed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- At least 2 years of formal training or substantial practical experience
- Willingness to engage in ASQ CQT training program
- Availability for nonstandard or extended work hours
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Experience in project management is essential
- Self-motivated with the ability to meet strict project guidelines
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; must maintain a pleasant and helpful telephone demeanor
- Ability to distinguish between colors
- Excellent numerical aptitude and attention to detail
- Basic understanding of various Statistical Process Control (SPC) techniques
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
- Familiarity with ISO 9000, AS9100, ISO 14001, ISO 17025, and SPC techniques
- Proficient in using various measurement devices (both mechanical and electrical)
- Understanding of basic electrical techniques and theories
