The Procurement Specialist is tasked with overseeing stock levels and acquiring new products to maintain inventory. This role involves building relationships with various suppliers to secure high-quality goods at competitive prices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Track and manage inventory levels
- Ensure accurate inventory records in the system
- Generate purchase orders for suppliers
- Research and source the best products at the most favorable prices
- Negotiate contracts with both new and existing suppliers
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel on incoming shipments
- Conduct quality inspections on new products
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers
- Ensure warehouse objectives are achieved
- Uphold high health and safety standards
- Perform additional warehouse duties as required
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required. Candidates should possess the ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operational instructions, and purchase orders. Previous warehouse experience is preferred. Essential skills include attention to detail, physical stamina for lifting heavy items, a positive demeanor, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently while also being a team player are crucial. Organizational skills are highly valued.
