About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Soul Food Sunday. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and excellence in our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Chef in maintaining a Do Whatever It Takes Attitude and a hands-on, lead by example management style to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction.
  • Manage and develop a high-performing back of house team, providing ongoing training and support to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Oversee labor and cost management, achieving or exceeding budgeted targets through effective planning and execution.
  • Assist in inventory management, ordering, and supply chain optimization to minimize waste and maximize efficiency.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to OSHA regulations and Soul Food Sunday's health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of Culinary Management experience in a full-service, structured establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of back of house operations, including staff supervision, inventory control, and food/labor cost management.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Stable and progressive work history, with a strong work ethic and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Manager Certification (if applicable) and basic kitchen equipment usage.
