About the Role

Johns Manville is seeking a skilled Technical Specialist to provide technical service for commercial edge metal roof systems and building expansion joint systems. This role involves helping customers select the best system for their specific needs, providing pricing and technical information, and creating job-specific hand-drawn sketches for custom fabrication.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with customers through excellent service and communication.
  • Diagnose and provide professional roofing recommendations.
  • Analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare fabrication drawings and apply knowledge of specialized methodologies.
  • Review data to determine the appropriate material and fabrication requirements for efficient manufacturing processes.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Support Customer Service personnel and salesmen with order review, entry, and delivery scheduling.
  • Create, update, and modify drawings for construction and fabrication.
  • Develop a working knowledge of roofing product specifications.
  • Interpret construction drawings and guide drafting through some generation of new drawings.
  • Responsible for visiting job sites to compile measurements as necessary.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
What We're Looking For

  • 5 years of commercial roofing or sheet metal fabrication experience or proven roofing/general construction experience.
  • Ability to understand and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Good knowledge of fabrication techniques.
  • AutoCAD experience is desired but not required.
