Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Interventional Radiology Technologist to join our team at Central Maine Medical Center. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures and ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform imaging procedures using radiographic equipment, including angiographic, digital, and other specialized images.
  • Prepare and position patients for procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Operate radiographic equipment, selecting appropriate technical factors for optimal image quality.
  • Assist radiologists with manipulation of catheters and guide wires during procedures.
  • Inject contrast media according to radiology policy and ensure proper technical factors are selected prior to image exposure.
  • Annotate and enhance digital images prior to sending to radiologists for review.
  • Practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Assist in maintaining basic records and reports, as well as training students and ancillary personnel.
  • Interact professionally with patients, families, and staff, providing exceptional customer service.
Requirements
  • High school graduate; BS degree preferred.
  • Graduate from an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology, either college-affiliated or hospital-trained.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
  • Licensed by the State of Maine to practice and administer radiation.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification required within one month of expiration.
  • Five years' experience as a Radiologic Technologist under a Board Certified Radiologist; one year experience in Interventional Radiology preferred.
