Position Overview

The Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in assessing the quality of care and outcomes related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI). This position adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and the standards set forth by Life Care Centers of America.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and analyze HAI data to ensure high standards of resident care.
  • Present findings and recommendations for infection control measures.
  • Monitor compliance with infection prevention protocols among staff.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs for staff, residents, and families.
  • Act as a resource for all departments regarding infection prevention.
Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing).
  • A valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • Current CPR certification, with the ability to maintain certification throughout employment.
  • Specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control beyond initial nursing education.
Additional Requirements

The Infection Control RN will also:

  • Monitor Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Implement COVID-19 prevention and response strategies in line with CDC guidelines.
  • Oversee the Antibiotic Stewardship Program and maintain knowledge of infection control trends.
  • Make independent decisions when necessary and uphold confidentiality.
  • Exhibit professionalism and integrity in accordance with Life Care's Code of Conduct.

This position is vital for maintaining the health and safety of residents and staff, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of infection prevention.
