The Infection Control Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in assessing the quality of patient care and outcomes related to Healthcare Acquired Infections (HAI) and Community Acquired Infections (CAI). This position adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and standards set forth by Life Care Centers of America.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and analyze HAI data to ensure compliance with infection control standards.
- Present findings and recommendations to enhance infection prevention strategies.
- Monitor adherence to infection control protocols among staff and associates.
- Develop and deliver educational programs for staff, residents, and families regarding infection prevention.
- Act as a resource for all departments concerning infection control practices.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A nursing diploma (associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing).
- A valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Current CPR certification, with the requirement to maintain throughout employment.
- Specialized training in Infection Prevention and Control beyond initial nursing education.
Prior experience in geriatric care is preferred. Additional certifications or training may be required based on state regulations.
Specific Job Duties- Serve as the designated associate responsible for monitoring Public Health Advisories from local, state, and federal agencies.
- Oversee COVID-19 prevention and response activities in alignment with CDC guidelines.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of infection control trends and methodologies.
- Implement and interpret the goals and policies of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
- Foster professional relationships with all associates and vendors while maintaining confidentiality.
Demonstrate integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life Care's Code of Conduct and completing all mandatory compliance training. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and healthy environment for residents and staff alike.
