We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Field Service Specialist.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to client locations (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and collect data on low, medium, and high voltage (480 Volt to 600 kV) electrical systems.
  • Conduct instrument transformer assessments.
  • Perform power transformer evaluations, including Doble, TTR, and Insulation Resistance tests.
  • Test both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
  • Execute cable testing such as Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot.
  • Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
  • Test low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
  • Engage in moderately complex relay calibration and power metering tasks.
  • Participate in emergency on-call rotations and respond promptly to client emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Ability to drive locally/regionally and availability for occasional overnight travel.
  • Preferably possess an Associate's degree from an accredited technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC) or an Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited institution, or equivalent military training.
  • NETA Certification (II, III, or IV) is mandatory.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in switchgear testing and troubleshooting is required.
  • Proficient in PC applications, including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with PowerDB is advantageous.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all electrical safety protocols is essential.
  • OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training preferred; training can be provided by Shermco.
Additional Requirements:
  • Capability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be able to pass a fit-for-duty physical examination when necessary.
  • Must maintain a drug-free status; passing a pre-employment hair follicle drug test and random drug tests is required.
  • Acceptable pre-employment criminal background check is necessary.
  • Must be physically fit to crawl, climb, stand, walk, and lift up to 75 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record are required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and nights is essential.
  • Must not require sponsorship to work in the U.S. now or in the future.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.
  • Willingness to travel is necessary; minimum travel requirement is 40%.
