POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Field Service Specialist plays a crucial role in the initiation, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting of Vertiv's 480VAC electrical bus duct systems, including iMPB, HPB, TOB, and metering communications. This position demands a commitment to fostering strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and sales representatives while ensuring effective communication with the Customer Response Center (CRC), supervisors, and management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the start-up commissioning, integration, and emergency service of Vertiv's 480VAC iMPB, HPB, TOB, and communication systems.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers, coworkers, and sales representatives.
  • Evaluate equipment operating conditions effectively.
  • Interact comfortably with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to manage one's own schedule.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service requests from customers.
  • Aim to achieve a 'first time fix' for all equipment issues.
  • Provide timely and accurate communication to both internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Submit accurate and timely reports, including time cards and expense reports.
  • Drive initiatives for Continuous Improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a hands-on electrical environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and technologies.
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic testing equipment and fundamentals.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Embrace a Customer-First Mindset.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • ASMET certification is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, and stooping.
  • Frequent bending and twisting motions.
  • Regular climbing of stairs and ladders.
  • Frequent driving of vehicles such as cars, vans, and trucks.

Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this role, candidates must successfully pass a drug test prior to employment. Additionally, candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment background check and a motor vehicle records check.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Exposure to extreme cold (below 32°F).
  • Exposure to extreme heat (above 100°F).
  • Medium to high noise levels requiring shouting to be heard.
  • Working in proximity to moving machinery, such as forklifts and tractors.
  • Use of protective equipment is required (earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirators, masks, etc.).
  • Outdoor work with limited protection from weather conditions.
