POSITION SUMMARY

The Electrical Field Service Specialist plays a crucial role in the initiation, commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting of Vertiv's 480VAC electrical bus duct systems, including iMPB, HPB, TOB, and metering communications. This position requires strong mechanical skills and the ability to perform repairs and modifications effectively. The Specialist is expected to foster and maintain positive relationships with customers, colleagues, sales representatives, and other stakeholders while ensuring seamless communication with the Customer Response Center (CRC), supervisors, and management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the start-up commissioning, integration, and troubleshooting of Vertiv's 480VAC iMPB, HPB, TOB, and communication systems.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, co-workers, and sales representatives.
  • Evaluate the operational conditions of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Engage effectively with all levels of internal and external clients.
  • Self-manage and organize one's schedule to meet service demands.
  • Respond promptly to emergency service requests from customers.
  • Aim to achieve a 'first-time fix' for all equipment issues.
  • Communicate accurately and timely with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Provide timely reporting of time cards, expense reports, and other documentation.
  • Drive initiatives for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a hands-on electrical environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical theory and technologies.
  • Familiarity with electrical/electronic testing equipment and fundamentals.
  • Mechanical aptitude is essential.
  • Proficient in standard computer applications, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.
  • Demonstrate a customer-first mindset.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • ASMET certification is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently.
  • Frequent standing, kneeling, crawling, and stooping.
  • Frequent bending and twisting motions.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
  • Regular driving of vehicles such as cars, vans, and trucks.

Due to the safety-sensitive nature of this role, candidates must successfully pass a drug test prior to employment. Additionally, a pre-employment background check and motor vehicle records check will be required.

ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • Exposure to extreme cold (below 32°F) and extreme heat (above 100°F).
  • Medium to high noise levels, requiring shouting to be heard.
  • Working in proximity to moving machinery, such as forklifts and tractors.
  • Use of protective equipment, including earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirators, and masks.
  • Outdoor work with limited protection from weather conditions.
