Job Overview

BKF Engineers is in search of a motivated and detail-oriented Strategic Pursuits Lead specializing in the Transportation sector. This role is crucial for enhancing our growth strategy and expanding our market footprint through the creation and implementation of strategic marketing initiatives and proposals for significant transportation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the formulation and execution of strategic marketing initiatives and proposals for major transportation projects independently. Assess market trends, client requirements, and competitive dynamics to guide marketing strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments, including business development, project management, and technical specialists, to craft persuasive and competitive proposals.
  • Manage the proposal lifecycle from inception to submission, ensuring high-quality and compliant deliverables.
  • Build and sustain relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct go/no-go evaluations and provide insights to senior management.
  • Develop and present marketing strategies and proposal content to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate proposal kick-off meetings.
  • Review RFPs and RFQs.
  • Ensure quality assurance and quality control for proposals.
  • Lead and conduct interviews.
  • Maintain and update team resumes and project descriptions.
  • Monitor and report on marketing metrics, win rates, and market intelligence.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff in marketing and proposal best practices.
  • Travel between offices and other locations may be necessary.
  • Flexible working hours may occasionally be required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a marketing or proposal coordination role, particularly in supporting transportation prime proposals.
  • Proven track record in leading and securing proposals for transportation projects.
  • Strong knowledge of the transportation sector, including highways, rail, transit, and aviation.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team setting and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Proficient in proposal management software, InDesign, and other relevant tools.

Work Environment

BKF promotes a healthy work-life balance and employs a hybrid model of remote and office work. The salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $85,000 and $125,000 annually, varying based on education, experience, qualifications, skills, geographic location, and performance.
