Cortica is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellow to contribute to our growing team of dedicated professionals.
In this role, you will embark on a comprehensive 9-month fellowship under the guidance of an ASHA-certified Speech-Language Pathologist. This structured program provides newly graduated SLPs with a robust foundation for clinical practice within a collaborative interdisciplinary setting.
At Cortica, we are pioneers in developing and delivering innovative treatment methods for children with neurodevelopmental differences. Our mission is to empower every child to reach their full potential through life-changing care. We foster an inclusive environment that values diversity and encourages the contributions of all team members.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop individualized speech and language treatment goals using dynamic assessments and standardized tools.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to create comprehensive treatment plans and integrative strategies.
- Provide direct therapy sessions, including individual, group, and co-treatment modalities as clinically appropriate.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and billing in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy.
- Implement play-based and goal-oriented interventions to enhance receptive and expressive language skills, considering sensory processing, regulation, and motor differences.
- Facilitate functional and engaging experiences tailored to achieve individualized goals.
- Develop strategies to support communication across various settings.
- Collaborate with families and individuals to understand their values, interests, and treatment aspirations.
- Contribute to program development and enhance the overall therapeutic experience for children.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs that complement therapy sessions.
Your Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Speech-Language Pathology Required Professional Experience (RPE) temporary license in California.
- Demonstrated clinical skills and a passion for working with children.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new approaches.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products.
- Understanding of relevant ethical guidelines and best practices.
